Allison Kaufman

Partner

After earning a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Allison spent fifteen years in commercial banking. She assumed the title of Mother-in Chief for roughly a decade, during which she worked with kids of all ages at both day and sleepaway camps.

At TCS, she enjoys working with different students and parents, and benefits from continuous learning from the variety of people she works with. She considers finding the perfect school for a student as her chief objective and finding out about her student’s acceptances and happiness at their chosen schools as her greatest accomplishments.

When not at TCS, you can find Allison playing pickleball, walking, cycling, or practicing yoga. She’s a secret nerd who loves to read, knit, and do jigsaw puzzles. Her happy place is at home with her family.

Allen Klevens

General Manager

Allen, a UNLV graduate with a BA in Communication Studies and Music, brings over 30 years of entrepreneurial experience to Today’s College Solutions. Drawing from his time pitching on “Shark Tank” and his sales expertise, Allen approaches college admissions like a high-stakes pitch—equipping students to effectively “sell” their strengths and passion to each individual school.

He excels in helping students create compelling stories that capture the attention of admissions officers and showcase them as well-rounded candidates. As a parent of two—one a UChicago graduate applying to medical school and the other a senior at Morehead Honors College at UGA—Allen has personal experience with the challenges of the admissions process.

He leads the new Encino office, offering personalized guidance to families in search of the best educational match for their children. An accomplished concert pianist since the age of four, Allen’s dedication to excellence is evident in his approach to college counseling.

Stacey Tan

Stacey Tan

Sr. Administrator

After graduating from Pepperdine University with a BA in Public Relations, Stacey worked as a Communications Liaison for TV and film crews at the West Bonaventure Hotel in downtown LA. She then worked with local and international media as a Media Relations Specialist to promote Los Angeles at the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau. After several years working in these fields, she then received her teaching credential from Cal State Los Angeles and taught
middle school English and History as well as adult ESL for 8 years.

Besides her vast work across many interdisciplinary fields, she is also a parent who has mentored many students, including her two daughters through the college application process. Having been through the process with her own children twice, she brings a unique perspective to the table. She understands through both the student and parent lens how to navigate the intricacies of college applications. She knows that each student is unique, just like her children, and that they each bring their own individual strengths to the table. Every student has distinctive needs when going through the admission process and is looking for different things when pursuing higher education. She knows how to guide students to the school that is the best fit, and now assists both parents and students through the process. Her diverse background and experiences enable her to offer a unique perspective on college admissions.
